Kibela Thrift Boutik is housed in a reddish, one-story, brick building that was formerly the grounds of Bella Fashion. Kibela Thrift Boutik's present owner, Amelia, launched Bella Fashion in 1978. She was a then married mother of three and newly arrived from Boston, Massachusetts. The business thrived. It handled large sewing contracts for manufacturing a wide range of women's attire. Bella Fashion closed its doors 20 years later when the manufacturing sector in Pasadena and across the country began losing valuable business to oversees market competition. Pasadena supposedly witnessed the closing of some 200 factories.
Amelia's creative passions remained steadfast although she had long since retired from the fashion industry. In 2010, she opened Kibela Thrift Boutik. The store derives it name from the inventive combination of the names of Amelia's grandchildren. Amelia credits her artistic and creative granddaughter, Lola, as being instrumental in coining the store's name.

Kibela carries decorative candleholders as well as small and sizable lamps to illuminate your surroundings while adding a touch of warmth and coziness. Amelia's artistry is routinely on display at Kibela's. Barbie and other collectible dolls take center stage. Amelia's skill as a seamstress is evident as the store has resplendent dolls that are often bedecked in miniature gowns stitched by Amelia as well.
